Sophia Routledge – International Young Carriage Driver

Sophia Routledge is a 19-year-old carriage driver from Kent who began driving at the age of nine. With the support of a dedicated team around her, she has already achieved significant success in the sport at a young age.

In 2025, Sophia became the Supreme Indoor Champion, adding to two other indoor championship titles. One of her most notable international achievements to date came in 2024, when she finished 4th in the marathon phase at the Young Driver European Championships.

Throughout her driving career, Sophia has been fortunate to work with several exceptional ponies who have helped her progress through the levels of the sport. She competed at her first European Championships at just 14 years old with her Hackney pony, Sid, finishing an impressive 7th. She later returned to the championships with her sports pony, Dream, a true pony of a lifetime who has taken her from novice level through to competing at British Carriage Driving 3* level, the highest level of the sport in Great Britain.

Looking ahead to the 2026 season, Sophia aims to continue gaining competitive experience on the 3* circuit, while working towards selection for another Young Driver European Championships, which will be held in Romania. Alongside this, she is also bringing on a promising young pony to follow in the footsteps of the ponies who have helped shape her career so far.

Supporting Performance from the Inside Out

I first used Succeed® Digestive Conditioning Program® on the recommendation of a competing friend to support my driving pony’s digestive health. Dream is a finely built sports pony who has always found maintaining weight a challenge.

We started using Succeed paste and found it very easy to administer. Dream also seemed to find it palatable, which made giving it straightforward.

Since being on Succeed, Dream has changed from a grumpy, girthy pony into one with a much improved attitude and comfort. His behaviour improved noticeably, and he has been able to maintain his body weight more successfully while continuing to train and compete at international level.

Without a doubt, Succeed has played an important role in our continued success.
